How much do Facebook ads cost, including the creative?
Most cost guides stop at CPC. Your real bill is media spend plus the ads themselves, plus fees. Plan all three below, compare dated industry figures, and see the cost per purchase you can actually afford. Free, no signup, runs in your browser.
What Facebook ads cost in 2026
Meta has no fixed price: you set a budget and pay for delivery. Recent medians give a starting point.
About $0.60 per click
Median cost per click across US traffic campaigns, all industries (WordStream, 2026).
About $15 per 1,000 impressions
Median CPM for ecommerce brands on Facebook and Instagram (Triple Whale, 2026).
About $39 per purchase
Median purchase cost for those ecommerce brands, all industries (Triple Whale, 2026).

Calculate your total Facebook advertising budget
The fields start with an illustrative example. Replace them with your own numbers; nothing leaves your browser.
Your estimate
Estimates from your inputs, not a forecast of Meta delivery. Daily spend can run above the daily budget on some days and averages out over the week.
What you actually pay for
Four lines, and only the first one goes to Meta.
Meta media spend
What you set as a daily or lifetime budget. Meta may spend up to 75% over a daily budget on a good day, but over a week it stays within seven times the daily figure.
The creative
Concepts, copy, revisions and the Feed and Story versions of each ad. A fresh ad set needs fresh images, so this line repeats every month you test.
Management
An agency retainer, a freelancer's hours or your own time setting up, watching and adjusting campaigns.
Tools, tracking and tax
Analytics and attribution apps, landing-page tools and any sales tax or VAT on what you buy.
What other advertisers pay in 2026, and the limits of those numbers
Two recent datasets. They measure different things, so read them side by side, never multiplied together.

| Restaurants and food | $0.45 |
WordStream by LocaliQ, 2026: 1,377 US traffic campaigns, April 2025 to June 2026, medians. Traffic campaigns pay for clicks, not purchases. Lead campaigns in the same study ran a $1.80 CPC and a $27.39 cost per lead, and a lead is not a customer.

Triple Whale, August 2026: over 40,000 brands on Facebook and Instagram, August 2025 to July 2026, medians; not limited to the US. A dash means the study gives no figure for that industry.
Why cheap clicks are not cheap customers
A $0.60 click that never buys costs more than a $2 click that does. Judge a campaign by its cost per purchase against your margin, which is what the calculator's break-even line shows.
Why your numbers will differ
Country, campaign objective, audience, season and the offer itself all move CPM and CPA. Your own first weeks of data beat any industry median.
How much should you spend per day or month?
Work back from what a customer is worth to you, not forward from a round number.
Find your break-even CPA
Average order value times your margin after product, shipping, payment fees and returns. That is the most a purchase can cost before you lose money on the first order.
Budget for enough purchases to learn
A test that buys three sales tells you little. Plan a budget that can buy a meaningful number of purchases at your expected CPA, then judge.
Pick daily or lifetime
A daily budget keeps spend steady day to day; a lifetime budget spreads a fixed amount across the dates you choose. Both average out over the week.
What does Facebook ad creative cost?
The line most budgets forget, and the one that decides whether the media spend works.
| Route | What you pay | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|
| Do it yourself | Design software plus your hours | Your time is the cost; fresh ideas run out fast |
| Freelancer | Graphic designers on Upwork typically charge $15-$35 an hour | Revisions, turnaround and each extra size add hours |
| Agency | A creative retainer, often bundled with media buying | Separate the creative fee from the media fee before comparing |
| AI static ads (TheAdHook) | From $49/month for 40 credits, one credit per Feed or Story ad | You still choose which ads run; review each one before launch |
One concept in Feed (4:5) and Story (9:16) is two finished ads. Count outputs, not concepts, when you compare quotes.
Cut cost per purchase, not just cost per click
Match the ad to the page
The offer, the product shot and the words in the ad should be the first thing the landing page shows. Mismatch wastes the click you paid for.
Test one clear idea at a time
A new angle, a new offer or a new layout, each as its own ad, so the winner tells you something you can repeat.
Refresh creative before it tires
Rising frequency and falling click-through are the signal. Cheap, fast creative lets you rotate in new ads before costs climb.
Keep the creative line small and the ideas fresh
TheAdHook makes the static ads: Story and Feed images with Meta copy, ready for Ads Manager. Media buying stays with you.
Ad from a link
Paste a product URL and get a finished Story and Feed ad with primary text, headline and description. How it works.
Remix an ad
A fresh version of an ad you already run, so a tired winner gets a new life without a new brief.
Copy a winning layout
Your product in a layout that works, from a reference you found in the Meta Ad Library.

Facebook advertising cost, answered
How much do Facebook ads cost per day and per month?
There is no fixed price: you choose the budget. Meta lets you start with a few dollars a day, but a useful test needs enough budget to buy a meaningful number of purchases at your expected cost per purchase. Multiply that cost by the purchases you want to learn from, then add creative and fees.
What does Facebook advertising cost per 1,000 impressions?
Ecommerce brands paid a median CPM of about $15 across Facebook and Instagram in the year to July 2026 (Triple Whale). Health and wellness ran higher, baby and books lower. Country, audience and season move it a lot.
Is $500 enough to test Facebook ads?
It can be, if the $500 is media spend and your expected cost per purchase is low enough to buy several sales with it. Put creative and fees on their own lines first; if they eat half the $500, the test is half as big as it looks.
What is the difference between CPC, CPL and CPA?
CPC is the cost of a click, CPL the cost of a lead (a sign-up or form), CPA the cost of an action you choose, usually a purchase. A cheap click or lead is not a cheap customer: judge the campaign by cost per purchase against your margin.
Does my Meta budget include ad design?
No. The budget in Ads Manager pays only for delivery. Images, copy, revisions and the Feed and Story versions are a separate cost, whether you pay in money or in hours.
How much does a static Facebook ad cost to make?
It depends on the route: your own hours, a freelancer's hourly rate (graphic designers on Upwork typically charge $15-$35 an hour, before revisions), an agency retainer, or an AI tool that charges per finished ad. Compare the cost per finished ad, sizes included.
Does one concept in Feed and Story count as one ad or two?
Two finished ads: a 4:5 Feed image and a 9:16 Story image. Count outputs, not concepts, when you compare creative quotes.
How do I calculate my break-even cost per purchase?
Average order value times your margin after product cost, shipping, payment fees and returns. A $60 order at a 50% margin breaks even at $30 per purchase on the first order; repeat purchases can justify more.
